You’ll find a version of my traditional resume following this brief narrative.
As a technical communicator, I’ve been able to use my skills to work in my fields of interest, which include sustainability and higher education, and currently work in marketing, member coordination, and resource/event planning at Stoke, a coworking space and entrepreneurial hub in Denton, Texas.
I use foundational technical communication skills, writing, editing, and design, based around audience analysis to create information products that deliver messages and elicit action.
I created social media campaigns and marketing materials for the two offices in which I worked at the University of North Texas, UNT Student Sustainability and the Office of Spiritual Life. In addition to creating content, I communicated with departments and groups across the larger UNT campus to collect data for an annual nation-wide standard report for UNT Student Sustainability. I also communicated with student organization leaders on campus to engage them in Office of Spiritual Life initiatives, such as on-going programs or events.
As a graduate student and professional, I honed and strengthened skills in specializations in the field of technical communication, in content strategy, usability/user experience, and designing technical training and documents. I have been fortunate to work with clients who value the work that I do as a technical communicator.
With Stoke, I design and create marketing materials for various campaigns and events. I write and publish our blog, monthly newsletter, and weekly event reminder emails. I plan and implement our content marketing strategy and schedule out social media posts. I work closely with the executive director to manifest Stoke’s mission of cultivating community and empowering entrepreneurs. In addition, I serve as the point of contact for coworking members and enjoy taking care of people and the space as the marketing and member coordinator! I love being able to connect people to others as well as resources that they might need.
